The American Legion is the nation's largest wartime veterans service organization aimed at advocating patriotism across the U.S. through diverse programs and member benefits.
American Legion Baseball, enjoys a reputation as one of the most successful and tradition-rich amateur athletic baseball leagues. San Diego teams were crowned National Champions in 1938, 1941, and 1954. In 2017, a handful of passionate Veterans within the American Legion spearheaded operations to re-ignite American Legion Baseball after it diminished in the 1980's. Today, once again, American Legion Baseball is serving the youth. Our 2018 inaugural season provided a tremendous foundation to re-developing this highly competitive Legion Baseball League within our County. The league is built upon the traditional values and has taught hundreds of thousands of young Americans the importance of sportsmanship, good health, and active citizenship. The program is also a promoter of equality, making teammates out of young athletes regardless of their income levels or social standings. The league is accessible due to our “NO Pay to Play” policy and remove any financial obstacles from players to participate.
